sun photooil

back

I am beginning to explore the use of Watercolors. I have been experimenting with Japanese watercolor paints and the use of Sumi brushes. This is a completely different way of working with paint compared to the oil that I have used for years. Come explore with me!

What I feel is expressed through my paintings. I paint as my mood strikes, and often what you see is what was moving through my emotions and psyche at that time the muse comes to pay her visit.

I frequently use a palette knife, painting in the impasto style, which is quite textured. Impasto does take a considerable amount of time to dry thoroughly, unfortunately! It hasn't stopped me yet! I love using color and adding a variety of mixed media to make a dramatic statement and to create something unusual.
